Film Coating

A technique originally developed for the pharmaceutical and confectionary industries, film coating consists of a liquid formulation that includes a film-forming polymer dispersed onto the seed at a highly controlled rate to achieve a uniform deposition of materials.

Generally, the increase in seed weight from film coating is small (0.5 to 5.0%) so that the original size and shape of the seed is not obscured.
